Virginia Pickin'

It's been a while since we've been apple picking. In fact, I don't think Caroline had ever gone with us, so it's been at least three years...maybe more. But she was very excited to "pick apples off a TREE." You have to imagine the "ee" part of tree going up in pitch and then right back down to get the full effect. But needless to say, she was excited. She wasn't the only one either. The big kids were just as excited.

So excited, actually, that we brought home more than 2 bushels of apples. And now I'm expecting to spend the next week in my kitchen figuring out what to do with all of these apples! Sauce will be first. Then some apple dumplings because apple dumplings are the #1 best reason to go apple picking, after all. If you're not aware of that, then you really need to get my recipe. You'll change your mind, I promise.

Excited!

She liked the "baby" apples, and I kept trying to
convince her that they aren't worth my time to
cut and peel them.
"But, Mom, they're so cute!"

I love the excitement on their faces when they
spotted the Perfect Apple.

Peekaboo!

Taking a rest.

All tuckered out. But not as tired as I will be when I'm done putting
away all of the apples!
