Field Trip Friday

I'm not sure if the farm really qualifies as a field trip when it's our umpteenth time there, but the boys were begging for a field trip today, and it was too late to head to the zoo and reasonably expect to find a parking space.

So, to the farm we went.

And here are some of my favorite photos from the day:

This girl is a born climber!  And she's willing to try anything she sees her brothers doing.  A dangerous combination!

Two Haircuts

This is the first haircut, given by the wearer.  He claimed that it was so he wouldn't have to go to the barber.

He still had to see the "barber."

Here's the second haircut, given by Dad the next day.

The results?  Not too bad, but I don't think he'll try that again too soon.

The Trojan Horse

We are studying the ancient Greeks this month which means we've been reading the story of the Iliad and the Trojan Horse.

Fascinating!

I can't quite figure out why I don't remember studying this stuff as a kid.  Is it because I didn't?  What a shame!  Even so, history is definitely my favorite subject to teach the kids.

And it's even more fun when we can use the Playmobil toys to set up our own Trojan Horse scene.

Two proofs of spring:

- trips to the park without coats

- and bright blue skies (not gray)

First walk of the spring

Yes, I said "spring."  I know it's not official yet, but it will be here soon, and on days like this, it's hard not to think that we're in spring now.

This was actually Baby Laura's first walk with the family.

Her momma had to figure out how to juggle the baby and the stroller since Laura was unhappy riding.

The stroller was soon dumped on Mom.  And I promise, I did not teach her how to hold the baby in the death grip!

The boys enjoyed the warm weather so much that they broke out their shorts for a bike ride.
