Holidays

I know. You thought the holidays were over for a while. Well, the major ones are, but the minor holidays can be a lot of fun, too, especially if they're occurring at the end (we hope!) of a long, cold winter.

We had a fun lunch with our friends for Valentine's Day a few weeks ago. The kids each made their own pizza and then munched on some chocolate-dipped cookies.

This girl ate more cheese than anyone else...before it ever made it onto
the pizza!

And then there's Fastnacht Day! It's not technically a holiday, I suppose, but it's a good reminder that Lent is beginning and that Easter is coming soon. And since the food is yummy, we celebrate it like a holiday here.

She had a rough time with that apron.

This girlie was my best helper, as usual.

She likes that thumb!

Eager to get busy!

Cade helped cut donuts some, too.

Bubbly and brown!

Luke got in on the action a little.

Cade was our "shaker". He put the donuts in the
cinnamon-sugar bag and shook them up to coat them.

The stack is growing!

Oh yum. Makes me want to go get another one right now...

Yep, they were good! Caroline didn't help make them,
but she sure helped eat them! The rest of us had some
leftover soup with our donuts for lunch, but I'm
pretty sure she just ate donuts. And she was
a HAPPY girl.
