Science in the front yard!

We were in the middle of our morning lessons the other day when one of the boys spotted something in the driveway.

It was this gal!

The kids had fun watching her hide in his shell for a while. Elsa especially wanted to hold her, so we let her hold her for a picture before sending her off into the weeds behind the backyard. Luke needed to mow the grass later, and we didn't want him to accidentally hurt the turtle.
Our turtle-loving girl holding the box turtle
that we found out in front of the house. Notice the
turtles on her shirt?
The kids were convinced that we should get to skip science that day since we saw real, live science in the front yard. Ha!
