Baseball season has ended for us.
While I'm cheering - because that means no more PBJ dinners while sitting on the sidelines waiting for the game to start but the coaches are late again...or trying to keep two other kids entertained during the game...or rushing in the door at quarter past bedtime and having to throw three still-hungry kids in for baths before the quiet can begin - it's sad, too, because the boys enjoyed it so. And I enjoyed watching them play.
It was great to see the improvement they showed in their playing this season, especially the bigger boy. He went from striking out a bunch to hitting consistently. He played in the special game at the end of the season with players from other teams (we're not to call it the All-Star game for some reason), and he did really well.
Please try to ignore the whiny child and frustrated mommy in the background. Trying to video and parent at the same time is rather a challenge. And my video-taking skills are poor at best, so I'm making apologies in advance.
The littler guy didn't make the teeball special team, but we were thankful for his contented spirit and the consistent effort he made to pay attention and follow the coach's instructions. His abilities are different from his brother's, of course, but it's pleasing to see him working hard to try to keep up anyway.
So it's over and out - until next spring!
