A Blessed Easter

We had a particularly good service on Palm Sunday, and I especially was thankful for the sermon preached by our pastor. It was the final Sunday in a series on the Atonement that we've been hearing since Christmas. The Lord has really used these messages to bring me into a more serious contemplation of His work on the cross as we approached Resurrection Sunday. The final sermon on the Atonement was preached on Good Friday, and on Sunday we heard a message on the relevance of the Resurrection in our lives.

We didn't spend Easter with family this year, but we are thankful for our church family. In particular, we are thankful for new friends who are becoming dear to us. We are grateful to the Lord for these brothers and sisters who are an encouragement to walk worthy of our calling.

Today we are rejoicing in the Lord for His faithfulness to us. Through many months we have waited - not very patiently, I freely admit - for Him to provide permanent employment for Stephen. It has often been a struggle to trust His providences, especially when Stephen didn't get the job with the PTO that we so desired.

But today Stephen was offered a permanent position with the firm where he has been a contract employee since August! He plans to accept and his status will change to permanent employee within the next week or so. Praise God with us!
